Keep your special friend close to your heart with a custom dog charm. Each charm is made with love and hand cut, fired, and glazed in my home studio in southeastern Ohio.

Each charm will measure approximately 1" H x 1 1/2" W. Please note that the more detailed the dog's silhouette, the larger the charm may be.
1.) I begin my process by using a general photo of the breed and tracing the outline onto a piece of paper. I then cut out the shape and lay it onto a bed of rolled out clay. Using a fine point knife, I cut out around the paper - all the while focusing on any small details that will give the silhouette more life. *All necklace charms are cut to show the SIDE VIEW of the dog breed.
2.) Raw clay pieces are then bisque fired to 1,800℉
3.) After a bisque fire, using the photo I've received from you, my customer, pieces are painted to depict the specific colors and markings of the dog. The dog's name will also be written on the back.
* BEFORE PROCEEDING FORWARD WITH THE GLAZE FIRING OF EACH PIECE, I WILL SEND A PHOTO OF THE PAINTED CHARM TO YOU FOR A THUMBS UP. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE COLOR OF THE DRIED GLAZE WILL NOT MATCH THAT OF THE FINISHED-GLAZED PRODUCT.
4.) Once approved, your custom dog charm will go through a glaze firing of 1,925℉. The finished product will have a glass-like feel on the front, and the back will be unglazed with the name spelled out with a fine matte glaze.
5.) Finally, each piece is hand sanded to assure there are no sharp or edges to cut or snag on clothing.
All charms come with a quality sterling silver chain and securely packaged in a Kraft box with Hoof Print Pottery logo sticker to make the perfect gift!
I will do my best to communicate with you and keep you informed through the process. Please note that the lead time for custom orders does vary depending on when my kiln is being fired, but will not exceed 10 weeks.
