These weaving tools are beautiful and sturdy. Made here on our farm from spalted American elm wood, each piece has its own unique grain pattern and is hand sanded silky smooth. As weavers ourselves, we make sure there are no rough wood fibers that'll catch on the finest of yarns. They feel nice in the hand and are quite sturdy at 3/16" thick by 1.5" wide (stick) and 1.75" wide (wavy).
Finished with an all-natural oil and beeswax blend.
These shuttles especially come in handy when weaving on a rigid heddle loom where the sinking shed doesn't easily allow for a boat shuttle to glide over it. Wrap your weft around each side in a figure-eight to maximize their holding capacity.
